I wonder how the 5.0 BMW V12 would go if it replaced the 4.4 v8..... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

On this mornings little cycle ride into work from Paddington Station to Canary Wharf I passed a Black Full Fat with V12 badges on the wing, heading towards Tower Bridge along Lower Thames Street.

I couldn't see any other details but it looked pretty standard from the near side and rear. However I did catch the plate which was LJ04KSL.....

If it had't have been for the 8 Wheel tippers thundering along I would have got a picture.

I wonder if it's the same one and full of pine needles in the boot Very Happy

That sounds like the one. The one I saw was black, and definitely Lx04xxx. Range Rover 4.2 SC

Sorry to drag an old thread up from the dead here, but I was idly googling and noticed this.....

My understanding is that BMW did have a V12 in mind for the L322 - basically the one out of the 7 series in the same way that the V8 was lifted from the 5 series.
However, shortly after the shell had been designed to accomodate the V12, BMW developed variable valve timing. The M62 got it, to become the M62TU, but the V12 with its low production volume did not warrant the effort. So now they had a much lighter and less thirsty V8 that made as near as dammit the same power and torque as the V12. No brainer! NW060

Unnecessary quote removed

i was told that if you could fit a bmw 6 into a car then a v12 could be squeezed in. this was from a bloke who was fitting a v12 into an old e36 318ti compact.
who knows, i've never done it.

Well the 60° V12 is narrower than a 90° V8, and about the same length as the straight six diesel, so dimensionally it should fit.
