'07 key pairing process

Received a new key from Dan @ Duckworth's on Saturday, and having a minor issue.

I've used my GAP IID to pair the key to the ignition, so it unlocks the steering and starts the car, but it won't remote unlock or lock the car. Nothing happens when the buttons are pressed.

I've been using the key for the ignition, in the hope it was just a flat battery, but no change.

What have I missed? Have I not paired it correctly?

Hello I didn’t buy a new key but after the bat running flat on my car had the same issue and this worked for me.

Get in and close all doors. Turn ignition on and off quickly and remove the key (all within about 5 seconds).

2) Within 30 seconds of turning the ignition off, while holding down the "unlock" button, press the "lock" button three times. Release the "unlock" button. (You may or may not get the confirmation from the door locks.) Holding the key at your head level provides best results as the key sensor is in the side window pillar.

3) Repeat for each key you want to initialize within 30 seconds after the last one you initialized (if you have more).

4) Right after doing the last key, quickly put the key back in the ignition and turn it on/off again to finalize.

Hello Blair

I have been trying to program my spare key with my iidtool but cannot get it to work.
Did you have any problems at all?

Mine will program the main working key fine but when you take it out then put in the spare
Key it does not switch off the steering lock so you cannot turn it to program it. I take it your
new key turned in the lock Straightaway? And did you have to programme it in position 1?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Steve.

Do you have the IID BT?

Mine gave specific instructions to follow, to pair the keys. I just followed those. I used the working key intially.

I think you have to put it in the lock, press a button on the app, and you'll hear the steering lock open so you can turn the key.
