Colour / roof combination?

Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, i was hoping for perhaps help, perhaps reassurance. I'm about to order a new Autobiography 18 and i'm stuck on my choice of colour.

I think i want the new byron blue, with privacy glass and a black roof, the problem is i'm having trouble visualising wether or not it work. With no byron blue models around to see in the flesh it's really hard to commit to a decision. All the promo pictures im seeing everywhere show byron blue with clear glass and a body coloured roof, thats making me suspect LR's style dept know something i don't

Has anyone out there seen a byron blue model yet, if so what do you think goes with it the best

Thanks in advance for your help.

Not seen Byron, but I’m a big fan of the black roof with privacy glass Thumbs Up

Have you seen this recent post?

It shows Byron Blue but I don't think it has a black roof though.

Thanks, I'd see that, shame it doesn't show the car side on, still hard to see it from that angle.

It's all a matter of what you like , really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Proberbly a good idea to see one in the flesh before you make your decision.

Personally I like solid colours with black being the best choice but others will have other opinions and rightly so. Be very boring if we all had good taste!!!!

Good luck with your decision. Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

I’d say body coloured roof and privacy glass.

But it is - of course - your car.

So what I think is immaterial. What do I put here then?

Hi jimchef, the post you've seen is mine and the photo is from the factory visit I had.

I've also ordered the Byron Blue, a 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography. However, unlike you I chose not to have privacy glass (although I know I'm in the minority, most people do prefer it).

I ordered my car back in late September, just ahead of release and like you felt very unsure exactly what to go for and was worried about making a very costly mistake. I started off ordering Santorini Black with a Silver roof, then in the end went for Byron Blue with same colour roof, for a number of reasons.

I concluded that as I was spending in excess of £100k, I couldn't afford to get this wrong and the thought of my car showing up on delivery day and hating it filled me with dread, So, for £325 I decided to pay for and arrange a VIP Configurator Factory Visit, which in the scheme of things is chicken feed compared to the price of what you are about to spend.

It's an interesting day out, a spot of light lunch, tour of the factory, just about every possible colour combo you can think of will be there and most importantly, you can be sure that you're making the right decision.

I do have a rear / side view if that helps (see below), squint and the roof could be black Very Happy

If you have the slightest doubt, take a trip to the factory - Don't risk getting it wrong!

Hi Jim

Sorry for the confusion, that's not actually my car, just one I saw at the factory awaiting export.

You're right, this car does have privacy glass (my spec is exactly the same, just without the privacy glass).

Also, all the white strips you see on the pillars (which are a bit distracting) are for some kind of protection.

Hope this helps
