water coming in

hi everyone, there seems to be some water coming somewhere on the back door, its not actually getting in the car but is more trapped between the door aperture and the body of the car, sort of underneath the rear speaker, it seems to happen when its been raining so am guessing it runnig down the door and gettin trapped....any ideas?

Mine does the same, strangely it only happens on the rear drivers side door.

Cheers

Sounds like a faulty outer door seal to me. Discovery 4 HSE

I've been getting this recently - this is due to the dual door seals, water gets stuck in-between the two... The water enters through the outer felt seal at the top of the door.

after some heavy rain mine also dumps some water from drivers side rear door.

Never really looked at it but from what you just said dan is it worth cutting a small piece of outer lower seal away to create a drain? 2004 black Vogue TD6

Surely that would allow deep water in as well.

Most car doors have drains weep hole etc. there never 100% water tight, holding waterl is not good it will rust sooner or later. 2004 black Vogue TD6

There is already a drain hole in the bottom of the door - thats to let water out of the inside of the door. You wouldnt want to make a hole in the door seal - if you ever went through water up to the bottom of the doors you would very quickly have wet feet.

In the winter months I often have to drive through water 1-2 feet deep (any more and I go the long way round!) and certainly wouldnt want to compromise the water-tightness of the car. Especially as there are a lot of ECU's very low down in the car, under the seats etc.

mine does this too, i read on a forum some where that its an alignment issue. apparently this is not uncommon and landrover just realign the door to sort it out. my door looks nice and aligned already though, strange. Neutral

Beat me to it. Apparently not much of a re-alignment is necessary - and I believe it is 'in' rather than up/down/sideways.

turns out that both my doors do it in the back, does anyone know how much it costs to get the re-aligned........?
