Mini Maglite Revelation

What's better than a lovely L322 with all the bells and whistles?
Answer: a lovely 322 with a Mini Maglite of course!

...someone recently posted that a Mini Maglite fits into the top hatch of the centre console.

I remembered I had a dead one in the bottom drawer. Pulled it apart cleaned it all up, new batteries and it's working like new.

Which was satisfying in itself.

Until I went out to the car and....

OMG BEST THING EVER!

It fits in there perfectly!

Obvs doesn't take much to keep me happy.
And even more satisfying because I had an old one lying around!

Get on Amazon people. It's the 2 x AA Mini Maglite. There is a 2 x AAA version but the snug, made-for-it fit is the 2xAA version.

to stop it rattling [if it does that is] stick some foam on the underside of the top lid ...when the lid closes the foam compresses on whatever is in the top tray... ... - .- -.

Look what I just found in my Workshop.

It was a present from my kids years ago but is unused.
I will be trying it out tomorrow when I get 2 new batteries (AAA ??? ) G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999
V reg 2.5td P38 Rioja red 1999- 2006
53 reg td6 Vogue Oslo blue 2006- 2015
11 reg 4.4 TdV8 Vogue SE. Baltic blue 2015- date.

mjdronfield - Yes, its Mini MagLite (2xAA version)
Nino - should have guessed you're already all over this
Mike - AA not AAA - great find in the workshop! A nice surprise. Your kids didn't realise thy gave you a Range Rover compatible torch!
Alistair - yep, I am thinking LED upgrade definitely
Stan - yes your anti-rattle system might be needed now. Nino's already got that too!

Definitely not AA batteries in mine.

It appears their are 2 sizes.
Mine is a mini which takes 2 x AAA.
I will check in the morning if it fits in the cubby box.

So there are several sizes of Mini Maglite.

Mine is a 2 x AA.

Mike, let us know how your 2 x AAA fits, but seems smaller so will be a looser fit. Still a nice find!

Greg,
The Mini Maglite is way too small and not recommended. (2x AAA battery version).
Stick to the larger AA battery type.
