United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

L405 owners, could you help me by telling me what I would need to colour code if I was going to take a standard 405 and colour code it black please?

The car I have in mind has black/grey turbine wheels which will remain unchanged, so this is about the bodywork

I have the following in mind........

Front Grill
Scuttle on the bonnet (am I right in thinking there is a grey scuttle on a standard car?)
Full width silver splitter in lower front bumper
Grills in the front bumper
Side vents on front doors
Hockey stick on lower doors/ rear panel (6 pieces in total)
Tailgate finisher trim
Range Rover lettering front and rear

Please help by adding the bits I am missing.

Thank you 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

I can't resist asking, why?

I except this will devalue the car dramatically.

Not sure it would devalue the car Confused - same as changing the wheels or tinting the windows - it may appeal to a different person, but that's not the same thing.....

I quite like the look -

That's a fair point Alistair. I had no intention to offend anyone but I think these vehicles are beautiful and I am very wary of trying to change them or glam them up.

Quite simply I buy a mate of mines cars when he trades them in - I put on a personalised number plate and add a little personalisation which means that nobody knows I am the owner of his old cars and that suits both him and me. 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

Very interesting. I’m well up for a bit of personalisation, especially involving a little paint, but sometimes it’s best not to colour key everything, as it can change the visual proportions of the car.

For instance, the hockey sticks emphasise the car’s length and detract from the height and the bulk of the car, especially at its fattest bit. Just look at the D5 for comparison, where they’ve completely cocked this aspect up.

Do all of the rest though Thumbs Up

PS: As far as keeping cars standard, to preserve resale value, are concerned:

1. I’ve just seen the huge chunk of depreciation that mine has suffered from in just 3 months, even without declaring a few minor changes, so you might as well enjoy it the way you want it and good luck to you! Thumbs Up

2. If everyone kept them standard, they would start to look like employee’s Contract Hire company cars... You might just as well leave the dealer’s sticker in the back window, find a space for it in the Travelodge car park and be done with it! Wink Laughing
