Diagnostics and roof racks

Hello
I'm new to the forum and have just got hold of my first RR. I was looking for suggestions as to the most user friendly diagnostic system for a 4.4 TDV8 20011 Vogue. I plan to do all my own maintenance and any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. I'm also after some roof bars that can take an awning that will bolt on the side.
