United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze
TD6 gone.. upgraded to TDV8 and delighted!

I ran a TD6 Vogue for a few months earlier in the year.. loved it as a car but it was an alcoholic and performance wasn't great.. just last weekend, I bought a 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE in Tonga green with caramel(?) leather. I love!.. or rather, we all love it (wife and the kids too!).

Performance is so much better than the '6 and I got 29mpg on a recent motorway run! It drives really well with full dealer history, I don't need to spend anything on it for now.. well.. I bought a remap, it's in the post - it's one of these diy things that you plug in, read/copy file, send file to tuner, he sends back a new file and you upload.. never done it before but hopefully it'll work. Anyone mapped their RR with one of these devices?

Loving the car, its amazing..makes me want a 4.4TDV8.. I'll need to save up some more.. but for now I'm over the moon with my new 3.6!

I'll get pics up soon..

I was tempted to map my TDV8, but I've arrived at the point in life where I want to roll everywhere rather than race like I did in my youth. As a consequence, she returns 33.4 on a run down to London and I arrive at the other end feeling glad to be me. Simply the best car I've ever owned. I look forward to your photos, green with tan interior was one of my top choices when looking for one myself.

Congrats. The 3.6 is a great car. I’ve enjoyed mine for about 3 years. ______________________________

Thanks guys. I didn't go looking for a green one specifically, but it stood out in a sea of black/grey/silver/navy.. I prefer having a "colour" though and the combo works well. It's a nice green too.

It has a venturecam in the glovebox. It works. Cannot work out what I could use it for though..any tips?

I'll get some pics up tomorrow..

Congratts Thumbs Up

The venture cam is for "ones driver to show one the landscape” from the comfort of the FF Whistle Very Happy
Seriously, the venture cam can be used as a baby monitor... Mount it in your horse box? Back of your trailer when reversing?

I've similarly done the same upgrade. Agree with all your points apart from fuel consumption. My TD6 was marginally better than the TDV8.

Imho the tdv8 3.6 is a different world to the td6. The 3.6 is a great engine and if you have the venture cam then you have it all.

I'm another who recently made the same step! I found the TD6 better on fuel when trundling along, but the TDV8 is more economical at motorway speeds. That said, the performance and refinement levels are a world apart.

Do prefer the earlier seats, too...

Here's the pics..

I did the remap, the tuner told me it had already been tuned very poorly, it is going noticeably better now and seems to be getting averaging 24mpg though I've only done a couple hundred miles since the map. Performance is up too, it pulls harder and feels much like an aircraft accelerating along a runway to take off.. i'm still on honeymoon with this..

wow that looks like a seriously well-sorted car! upgraded rear lights and spoiler too! Bow down

And a great colour too! Green has got to be one of the nicer FFRR colours IMHO.

Thanks guys!.. all I have done is a remap, clean it and put a plate on it, previous keeper did the rest. When I was searching, this was was pretty much the nearest tdv8 for sale on my shortlist, it was 40miles away.. it was also the only green one and was very reasonably priced too, I've been lucky it has such a great spec and upgrades. Thanks for the welcome.
