MODEL YEAR 2017 Poll

There are a number of threads on here which relate to the 2017 MY infotainment unit being problematic, which has resulted in a number of rejections or ongoing problems.

So I thought it might be worth a poll to try to see how widespread (or otherwise) the problems are.

No plans to do anything with the information, just curious!

Just voted and mine has been very good. One issue to start with but sorted very quickly. Saying that its going in on Tuesday for an update due to the service required message appearing early. Apparently its a sensor software update and not DPF fault.

Hopefully the software update will increase the time between Adblue refils as well. Previous

Really pleased to hear that @WillyT.

I suspect that the vast majority of cars will be fine, it’s just that people tend only to post their problems - which can give a jaundiced view of things Thumbs Up

Mine went back, I know of three others that have gone back to dealers, one one here and two who don't use forums.
I absolutely loved the car I sent back and would have kept it but the dealer could not guarantee the issues would be resolved or indeed another one would not have the same issues.
I am really looking forward to getting my new one and posting positive comments insted of mostly negative ones.
Jut look at it simply stunning
Steve

Unfortunately there is no option that describes my situation, but it would need to be “some minor issues with infotainment, not bothered about having to wait for the software upgrade”

(The software revision is out, but it can’t be applied to cars with RSE)

@stillrunning - that is indeed a very nice looking car. Presume it’s the one that had to go back?

@redmerle - sorry, probably should have put something like that as an option, thought I’d managed to cover most bases Laughing

Just added my vote, had my Autobiography a month yesterday. If I set the RR to warm up via the iPhone app. Then the radio doesn't work until I stop the engine lock the car unlock and restart, just creating a snag list at the moment before booking it in. Also if I plug my iPhone in to charge up, the car thinks I want to use the in car apps. Which I have not set up and again I can't use the radio or Sat nav. until I unplug the phone. Annoying - yes, to be expected - yes it's a Land Rover, acceptable on a 100k vehicle - certainly not.
However I am loving the L405 I have completed 2100 miles in the month and not reset the average mpg which is showing 38.4 mpg. The steering is very good and precise something I've not experienced with previous LR products. The 3.0 tdv6 has power enough and less lightly to get me into trouble for creeping over speed limits.
Paul Journey started in a LR2B at 16 and has incl. just about every Land Rover, Disco, RRS and Range Rover Vehicle owned or driven, I even worked for the company when it was owned by BAe - It must be a madness!!! because to add to my 4.4 TDV8 Westminister In Baltic Blue I bought a second L322 as a commuter bus, TD6 2004 Vogue in Oslo Blue with cream leather now both gone replaced with what could turn out to be my biggest mistake. Carpathian Grey ivory interior 3.0 tdv6 Autobiog. 2017

I've heard rumors that says that the infotainment hardware has ”no-name” branded chips that is so bad at MY17 that they never will get it to work properly with only software upgrade. MY18 will have brand new hardware based on Texas Instrument chips. My MY17 has been terrible and I will get an new MY18 in January. I Cross my fingers that it will work properly.
