Hello World!

Mr. Green Mr. Green There is a God after all Mr. Green Mr. Green

At last a section for us really old gits! Or as I prefer to think as "Range Rover Pioneers" Laughing

So this my RRC..

It's a 1988 Turbo D... that's about as agricultural as you can get without a central driving position Laughing

So far it's had Window switches upgraded to illuminated ones!
Discovery 2 centre console upgrade
BMW / ffrr style Radio/Nav/TV head unit with reversing camera
Discovery 1 door mirror and door top frame upgrade, it is so nice not looking through a letter box!
Winch install inc wireless remote and Albright contactor upgrade
Heavy Duty steering links
Led heater control panel upgrade... you can actually see it in the dark now!
Speaker upgrades to the front doors
Remote central locking and flip keys, that is independent of the factory setup, which is Lucas and best left alone as it's sleeping happily Laughing

And I've also put a new steering box in, although not strictly an upgrade, it's nice not to have to tack (I believe that's the correct sailing term) down the road!!

I have most upgrade documented and I'm more than happy to share! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Oh! that's what they are supposed to look like!

Mine is a rather modded 2.4VM with a 2" spring and 2" body lift, and I recon that the engine has been played with too... as it's not as sluggish as the 200TDi Defender that I used to drive! or as bad as i was led to believe the Turbo D are. In fact there isn't a lot of difference between it and my ML Shocked

And that is performing better than my ex ffrr TD6 ever did, apart from the noise aspect... you definitely know it's a diesel Laughing Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Hello Miggit - now you've started something. I occasionally see your posts on the RRC forum.

Meet Tracey. called so cuz apparently it goes with 'tractor' according to SWMBO. last of the hard dashes. Been an 18month project so far and only bodywork left to paint then done! I will post some latest photos when the weather improves. New gearbox, wheel bearings, inner wing boot floor welding and so on and so on etc etc (if you know RRC's you know what I have had to do!).

Also posted a photo of my previous project regrettably sold but to a nice chap from Twickenham who still has it three years later.

The first Classic I rode in was in 1973.... haven't been able to get enough since!!

As for the first car I drove... flash git!, mine was an Austin Maxi in a field in Wales at the age of 10... should have left it there too Laughing Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Miggit,
Mine was absolutely bog standard when I bought it, but I removed the original front valence and fitted the new one with fitted spot lamps.

I kept it 8 years and sold it on approx 135k Miles.
The only major problem I remember was one of the cylinder head gaskets blew. My brother helped me change it and all was OK for a few years , then I sold it to buy a new P38 2.5 DT.

It was still showing as running on the MOT database until 3 years ago. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

11 reg 4.4 TdV8 Vogue SE. Baltic blue 2015- date.

I'm in. 94 soft dash LSE here. I've had it a few years yet and spent a small fortune on it but its in pretty good nick now. I'll find some pics.
My rear diff has been a bit noisy so that needs replacing - anyone any idea what it is? I think its a 24 spline axle on the later cars but not sure about bolts etc

That's a tricky one.. I would have thought that Ashcrofts would be your best bet... plus they sell all the parts to repair!

Thanks. I've had a quick look through their website but I'll give them a call.
