Your not really meant to reuse gaskets and for the sake of the cost for two new ones if it was me i would just replace them again.

I think I will get shot down here but bimmerforums claim the cheapest and ieasiest fix is to replace the washers on the bolts with slightly thicker steel washers to make the gasket compress more.... thoughts? Current stable:

Up to you what you do, be careful not to snap the bolts if they get overtightened just make sure use torque wrench.

Download RAVE as the torque setting is in there but it’s not that high. There are metal inserts that are fitted in the cover bolt seals to stop over tightening the covers.
