Radiator water temperature

In the last couple of weeks my temperature gauge has been struggling to reach the first mark at about 10 o'clock (normally 12 o'clock). A few posts on here say "change the EGR thermostat", so I thought that I should first use my IID tool to check what the actual water temperature is after a 10 mile run. I knew it was cold, but -2736C seemed a little too chilly - sadly, the same value appeared after I cleared all faults.

Has anyone else experienced incorrect values from a water temperature sensor (or have any ideas of where the sensor is located) please?

As Absolute Zero is - 273C, and you seem to have got well below that then I would talk to the good folks at CERN. They would no doubt pay a small fortune for such a vehicle... Laughing

Hi

I seem to remember that the thermostat opens at 85c .

I was concerned when I checked mine - it was over 110 thousand c !!!! As that was hotter than the sun I decided that it wasn't very accurate!! lol

On a long downhill run mine cools to the 10 o'clock position then recovers, a replacement thermostat is on the cards when i have the time.

Simon
