I bought something similar recently and no, they aren't big enough for a block style car key. Better to buy one intended for a phone or keyless go fob.

Worth buying for credit cards though as nefarious types can easily scan cards even though they are in your wallet.

Try tin/kitchen foil but get a good coverage all around key.
