Scary isn’t it... Shocked

I have a secondary immobiliser on mine and simply needs my keyring dropping into the cupholder to start it...

Or as I have done, fit a Ghost security system.

They can't take the car even if they have the key. It will start but as soon as they move out of Park the engine will shutdown.

You have to enter the correct unlock code by pressing certain dash buttons in a given sequence prior to moving out of Park.

It works well as I've forgotten to enter the code myself a few times! 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Baltic Blue

I am definitely thinking of fitting some way of stopping my 2011 tdV8 being driven away.
Their have been 4 reports in my local press within the last month of owners being forced to hand over the keys or keys being stolen in house break ins.
I would love to hear more about either a secondary immobiliser or the ghost system.
I already fit a steering wheel lock when I park up , but would consider any way to stop it being driven away.

Cheers

For keyless entry protection for your car all you need is to put your keys in a faraday pouch / bag when not in use. Available from Amazon for a few pounds.
Won’t help if you are forced to hand over your keys but will stop your car been driven away whilst you are asleep.

This 'repeater' vulnerability is quite well covered in the press, but not such a worry for L322's as they are not keyless entry.

If I had a keyless entry car then I'd keep my key in a faraday bag/thing as mentioned ^

On L322's if they can get in the next place they'll go is the OBD port. There are various ways to protect or slow down this process.

A good old steering lock is an excellent deterrent too.

. Cheers, Greg

L322’s do have a door lock though! Which are NOT very “high tech” and easily broken into through this means... Rolling Eyes
