He's identified the sweet spot in the market. The 3.6 is such good value these days that it's really hard to justify the 4.4, although I might change my mind if I drove one.
I don't buy that either, and like a lot of people he thinks sequential turbocharging always starts with the small turbo then a bigger one. For all JLR V6 and V8's it's the other way round. Here's a (not very good) article on it: -
It's completely different to the BMW system, which is a compound system - one big turbo blowing into a smaller one. Even the BMW system goes to just a big turbo at higher revs. |

Watched this a couple of times now (plus other useful YouTube L322 videos). Budget is always a factor between choosing a good 3.6 which can be over 15k to a good 4.4 which are now dipping below 19k. More looking on autotrader over the coming months... |
