Hi all
So, I’m currently considering a MY05 TD6 with 80k on the clock, with good bodywork and new decent tyres all round.
In the last 12 months the current owner has had the following work carried out on the car
*Recon gear box with a 2 year warranty.
*New turbo.
*New alternator.
*New battery.
*All suspension airbags and compressor replaced.
*Front suspension ball joints replaced.
*Rear break pipes replaced.
Now looking at the list above it appears to me that he has replaced most of the components that fail on the early L322’s? His reason for sale is that he needs to release some cash, but I think that he has got into the mindset of just waiting for the next thing to go wrong and cost him more money to repair/replace?
Now I think, looking at the above, that with a good preventive maintenance schedule I could have 3 to 5 years of relatively trouble free motoring with all the major issues addressed?
What else could be a major item to go wrong? Any thoughts?
