Anybody know what this is?

I found it in the back of the Fatty after it had been in for its new gearbox.

Hi Its part of the spare wheel lifting kit - it fits between the tailgate lock and catch and keeps the tailgate in the down position.

enables you to slide out the spare wheel on the lifting straps .

Why would they have that out to change a box ? Call me suspicious and untrusting but I would make sure my spare was the one it went in with. Embarassed

TBH I've no idea why they might have been in the boot but my spare is still there. Maybe they found it in the car somewhere & put it in the boot out of the way. I dunno, I just know I never saw it before.

Anyone know where I can get one of these please? I have the spare wheel lifting strap fitted but I don't have one of these to keep the tailgate open whilst removing the spare.

I don't even know what it's officially named as, so I can search for one.
