umm, that's a lot of money for a little bit of steel cable.

I went to my local rigger supplies company and they sent me down the block to get 4 swag-able electrical terminals. When I took them back it only took 5 minutes to cut 2 pieces of steel cable and swag the terminals on to make some custom tail gate stay cables. Total cost AU$15 (10 British pounds).

4 off Electrical Terminals, type 16-12 = 16mm2 cross section (4.5mm diameter) with M12 bolt hole.
2 off plastic covered steel cables (steel core = 4 to 4.5mm diameter (6 gauge); each 275mm (11") long.

Fitting took 10 minutes, even if a 5mm allen key is used instead of the correct torqs bit.
