"click" noise from pillar

Hello All,

I own a MY2015 L405 TDV6-AB. So far I'm very satisfied and I'm planning to keep it for a few years more.

My only problem is a repetitive "click" noise that comes from "somewhere" in the pillar, very close to the driver's hear.

I don't speak English perfectly so I don't know if "click" is the right word to describe this noise, but actually it sounds exactly like when you click on a PC mouse.

This noise is intermittent, and it becomes more frequent when the road surface isn't good. Also, it's more frequent at low speed, when cornering or manouvering. When I drive at highway speed it disappear.

I've tried to remove the panels around the seat belt, the gasket around the door, trying to find the source... but I can't reproduce the noise and I had no effect at all.

When I've asked the dealer and the service tech, they both told me that they are not able to identify the cause.

Am I the only one with this problem?

Could it be a slightly loose rear, gloss D pillar trim (near the boot), rattling... Or another piece of external trim?

Have you tried putting your hand on external trim pieces to see if they have any movement?

Yes I've been trying to put my hands everywhere in the area, touching the various trim pieces, but I'm not able to stop or reproduce the noise.

It looks like it comes from "inside" the pillar, near the driver's head, just under the area where the seat belt comes out.

It doesn't change if you move the seat belt attachment point up and down.

At a certain point I suspected that there was someting loose inside, but when I've removed the trim pieces I didn't find anything!

A true X-file!
