Hi all.

I am new to the FFRR forum but not new to the car. I have owned a 2007 3.6 tdv8 and swapped for a 2005 supercharged which I then stupidly sold to buy a car for the wife. Now that she is happily ensconced in her Macan, I’m thinking of going back to the RR.

My question is if the 5.0 supercharged l322 is going to last me without ripping me apart in repairs. My budget is 35k max so I’m hoping to get one of the last ones. Is that a pipe dream or feasible?

I saw that one but can’t have kids and light interior sadly.

There do seem to be a lot that are going cheap. I assume it’s a RFL issue with them now. I don’t have that to worry about in France and definitely a huge difference in price compared to here. They are nearly double the asking price in France and exceptionally rare. I actually prefer RHD anyway for the tiny narrow roads I use here.

Does anyone have an honest mpg for a 5.0 SC? My old 4.2 could do high 20s on the open road and 6 or 7 in town depending on traffic.

Nowadays my driving is mostly country roads and long straights with little traffic. I dont see a traffic light unless i drive 25 minutes from my house!
My wife is trying to stop me buying another SC because of the fuel consumption

Yes but that was 6 years ago when I had a company fuel card!

Over the last 500 miles my average mpg was 21.5 after some long trips. Usually however it's closer to 19mpg. I try not to use it for short shopping trips. We've got a Fiesta shopping trolley for that. 2012 5.0L S/C

Same as Nomad for me - typically get 19.x to 21.x per tank full on varied driving. 20.2 on a trip up to London and back today.
Dips to around 15 when towing one of the trailers. I'm not hanging about, but neither do I try to win the lights GP...easy to get into single figures if you use the throttle as an on/off switch. Mike - MPx

On a long Motorway stretch, i can get between 19-22. Around London where I do most of the driving ( short 3-5 mile trips in one go) I will get between 9-12 2011 5.0SC Santorini Black

Majority of my trips are between 4 and 10 miles of mixed town and A-road. Average = 16mpg.
Trip to Alton Towers last weekend (700miles all in) = 21.2mpg (mainly motorway)
Going through 50mph roadworks its up to about 25mpg.
Between 60 and 70mph, its fairly OK mpg wise = 20 to 22.mpg
Push it in anyway (70+mph, accelerations etc), and those figures sink like a stone.

Resetting it at the bottom of the Haylie brae and foot to the floor ?

... 3.4mpg  V8 or else ...
