Hi guys
member of this forum since a while, i'm at least about to buy a L322 4.4 petrol.
It is one of the latest version, registered in nov 2005, with the jaguar engine.
Full history, land rover serviced, and only 113 000km..!
So if there is other owners of this version, have you any advice, tips or anything useful to know about it ( diff vs bmw version)

Quite rare in the UK, most customers wanting a V8 Petrol went for the SC.
Lacks a bit of torque and doesn’t cope with LPG as well as the BMW lump but quite the unsung hero. You hear of very few issues with them.

i must admit i searched quite a long time for getting one
if they are rare in uk imagine here in France..!
i won't go for LPG as it is not my main car, i've got a diesel company car very convenient for day drive.
So i'll let the range like that and enjoy the v8!
i'll just put 4 duratrac on it, for going a little bit off road.

From what I’ve read, many regard the jag 4.2SC and the jag 4.4 as the most reliable trouble free motors fitted to the L322. ______________________________

What you have there is a very rare car indeed - Likewise I have one too!

Mine is a December 2006 car (2007MY). I'm not sure if yours is very slightly earlier. Mine has the later suspension set-up, split twin glove box, no cup holders in passenger side dash and electronic handbrake - I absolutely love this car.

I've continued to look regularly on Autotrader for another low mileage one to put into storage but I haven't found a single one same spec as mine and I've been looking for more than 2 years! (would love to hear from anyone else who has one).

As I think someone else has already mentioned, most people moved on to the 4.2 Supercharged around this time. Alternatively, they went for the the improved fuel economy offered by the TDV8. I've been told that most of the Jaguar 4.4 V8 Petrol's produced, actually went to the USA, with very few staying in the UK / Europe.

I paid £12,750 for mine 3 years ago with 52k miles on the clock, one owner from new and a full main dealer service history (absolute bargain!). it's now covered 81k miles, it's given me very few problems over the years and I still absolutely love it.

Mine I believe is Buckingham Blue, Magnolia and Dark Walnut - I've attached a photo below. What colour combo did you get?

Congratulations, you've done really well to find one of these - These cars are supremely smooth and quiet. They are easy to drive and get under your skin but in a good way..... To give you some idea, in many respects, I prefer it to my other car shown in the 2nd photo below.

Never under estimate a classic Range Rover - You can get very attached!

Me too & took a while to find one. Now had it for two years & still loving it. I think mine must have been one of the first as registered in May 2005, Java black with all the goodies.

I've one too; a 2006 Buckingham Blue with parchment and dark walnut interior. You'll not regret it - super smooth engine and gearbox. Servicing is key with these beasts. I don't always trust service histories so when I bought mine I forked out on the extra expense for peace of mind and had a full service including having the diffs flushed and refilled along with the gearbox and filter. Good job too as despite the previous owner having paid for new brakes and disks and a receipt for said work being done 6 weeks previous to the sale they were actually on their last legs. Since then I've never looked back and to date the car has been 100% reliable with only a duff heated steering wheel (something I can do without anyway). So enjoy your fatty and don't forget to check if it's had the free brake hose recall done

i'll for the hose nrake recall, but i'm quite confident with the service history, the service book is 100% land rover, same dealer.
Recently all the fluids were changed, including gear box, transfers, and diffs.
i'm quite impatient i must admit...
