I need to change the starter motor on my old mans 4.4TDV8. I have got a price for a Denso OEM starter from Dan which is a decent price.

I have been told by someone else that it is a pig of a job to do. Is that really the case? I have looked on the Wiki but it appears the write up on there is for a 3.6, is the 4.4 much different?

I have a 4 post ramp so access to the underside is fairly simple for me

Lets reserve judgement on that until I have changed it!

If I can do EGR's on the 3.6 and change an engine on an M62 RR then surely a starter motor should be ok!! Oh how I wish everything was as easy to fix as our old 1960's tractors!

Please update this post when the job is done so we will all know , also I will add it to my Fault log.
