Thanks to everybody who gave me pointers.
Me and my beloved both left the dealer with a somewhat puzzled
smile on each of our faces at the weekend.
The outcome was that we’re picking up our 2017MY Vogue at the end of this week,
at a decent (but not outstanding discount), and at the same time have placed our order for the 2018MY Vogue,
which we’ll pay list price for, and swap for the 2017MY when it arrives at the beginning of next year.
(Paying the difference between the discounted car, and the list price of the 2018MY)
As a result we both got what we wanted.
I’ll take that.
