sad news.

At the old Range Rover off road driving school at the Greenbrier in WV, the driving instructor did point out that the Park setting in the Auto is just a pin and said to always use the parking brake because the parking pin can sheer.

My old P38a did have a weak parking brake that had to be adjusted a bit to be tightened. OffRoadRover.com An American Western Range Rover Off Road Blog
