'Beyond economic repair' was the quote from the engineer examining the FF when he rang today. Apparently he also has experienced a number of Rangies and x5s of the same era as mine experiencing a fire in the aircon - he put it down to foreign matter jamming the blower fan causing the wiring to overheat. Dont know how plausible that is, but it means one more FF going to the great breakers in the sky. He valued it at £4800 - dont know how much of that will be left after the insurance have had their cut. One thing I do know - it will probably realise at least that much by the time it is broken for parts..... QUID FACIUM TIBI

Unfortunately my wife wont let me have another FF (at least for now). All I can do is sit and dream about how it used to be - failed rear wiper, non working high level brake light, bad headlight, jammed glovebox, failed drivers seat switch unit - but a great drive....... QUID FACIUM TIBI

Try an MG ZT or ZTT V6 190...or better yet a 260 V8...smiles per miles and all that and the 190s are cheap as chips! |

Nice choice on the ZT/ZTT. I've had a couple. Lovely things. Never tried the V8. |
