@ EmiratesA380

Of course I'd agree with you and buy the L405; it's much more relevant to what we do (and I'm never going to be able to afford, or even want, a Bentley anyway!).

What I meant was that, at heart, this is an £76,000 Vogue, with lots of nice bits added to make a VSE or even more for an AB and lots and lots of extra tinsel to make this thing. The Bentley might be a much less useful car but, with £130,000 to £230,000 to build the "basic" Bentley, they really ought start from a much higher quality / better finished vehicle before they start adding all of the extra leather, wood and thick carpets.

Something similar would apply if we took a VW Towrag, added every conceivable extra known to man and then compared it to a 405 Shocked

Must admit I rather like it. Is it worth £200k? Dunno, but if I win tonight's Euro Millions jackpot I know what one of the first toys I buy will be...then engage a chauffeur as the back of that car looks like the place to be.

Truth is that, at this level, it isn't about value; it's about desire. This will be one of 20 or 30 cars. The owner will have the Bentley too. Perhaps this will only used when the owner is going shooting on his estate. For those few days, t is the best car for his needs. At other moments, not so much. But it doesn't matter because he'll have another car for that occassion.

You are spot on Emperor Mong. Nothing to do with want or value for money, just something else for the stable.

Agreeing as well. So, if you’re going to have to slum it in the RR for the day, you might as well have one that doesn’t make it look like you’re down to your last million Wink

Agree with Emperor Mong. Cars like this are bought by what my colleagues in our prime residential agency call UHNWI (ultra high net worth individuals). These are people who earn interest on interest and so don't look at prices on things in the same way as the salaried majority of us.

There won't be many of these (kind of the point for this type of buyer) and when they're bored it gets moved on to some lucky second owner, who more than likely will pick it up for relative buttons. The depreciation loss won't bother the first buyer, they will have made more on their capital during the period of ownership than the drop in price.

Would I have one? In a heartbeat.

Well, surprisingly following my earlier post, I did have success on the Euromillions on Friday Thumbs Up

Unfortunately my win of £10.31 isn't going to be quite enough, but on the bright side I'm now less than £192,990 short Cool
