Suspension help needed

Gents problem with the suspension in that I can raise it to high ok standard ok but when I try to lower it it goes into extended mode now if I keep on pressing the button to send it down then it does eventually lower - I am wondering if it is the ECU on the way out - no faults showing any ideas

on the compressor there's a little brass air filter..check that it's not blocked or/and drill a small hole through the centre of it ...
there's a wiki how to ref extended mode that should help.. ... - .- -.

I am thinking it is the "grounded sensor" as it will operate up but always goes into extended mode when asked to go down will have a look later

The pump is only a year old and the brass filter is clean so I still have the intermittent fault where it won't go to access mode
Press access and it goes into extended mode but not every time sometimes it will go into access but if you hold the down button it will not lock into it and goes to extended
No faults found and now wondering if it is the ECU ? Expensive to swap out on a hunch any ideas welcome

Sounds more like a switch problem to me.

Do you have a button near the window switched on the drivers door that puts it into access mode?

Have you tried it to see if that works?

Yes tried that if I use either the one on the door card or the one on the centre switch pack it does exactly the same
It is driving me nuts

I had exactly the same fault on mine. Drilled a hole in the exhaust silencer and all is well. It looked shiny and clean on the outside but the inner surface didn't look so great.

My logic is that the bunged up silencer slows the exhaust to such an extent that the car doesn't lower quickly enough for the suspension sensor's liking so it thinks you're hung up and goes into extended mode.

Of course when you select off road height it isn't exhausting air so it works perfectly.

For the sake of 10 minutes work it is worth giving it a try and there really is no downside - I still cannot hear the exhaust when selecting access mode and the missus isn't bending my ear any more about having to vault in and abseil out of the car! Very Happy Bish.

All sorted took the pump out and removed the container with the container with the desiccant now the spring that keep it all nice and compact wasn't seated properly therefore the desiccant was being rattled around by the air incoming then exhaust so some had powdered the powder had been blown into the brass coloured breather so after cleaning it out and reseating the spring and making sure the desiccant was tight reassembled and jobs a good un
Thanks for the help as ever
