When turning in and rrs a light illuminates the inside of the bend at certain slower speeds. I thought my 07 rr would have the same? I see the sidelights have more than one bulb but it does not seem to illuminate? Is thisnthe same thing? Anyway to test it whilst stationary?

Yes you can, with the engine running turn the steering to full lock, put the indicator stalk to indicate to the side you have the wheel turned to and the adaptive light should activate, other way to do it is to drive at night/ in the dark or in a multistorey car park, slow to below 25MPH and set the indicator and that sides light should come on. IIRC it is also in the owner's manual.
I had this system on my 2007 RRS TDv8 but AFAIK my 2010MT FFRR doesn't have the adaptive headlights (so long since I drove it in the dark I cannot remember!) 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Tim, exactly what did last night! Thebbuld did not light? Am I right in assuming Thaddeus extra bulb in the sidelight is the build that should ignite?

It's an option on the Vogue, so most don't have it I believe.
It's standard on the Vogue SE and above.

Go for a short drive and it should be obvious if you have it.
It really illuminates the kerb, or a small roundabout as you drive round it.
In mine, anything more than half a turn of steering switches the inside light on.

Fox: I assumed mine didn't have it but I can clearly see 2 bulbs in the sidelight! Wouldn't be there if not installed?

Does the headlamp beam move when negotiating bends? IF no then its either broke or not fitted if yes..........
Are the bulbs servicable? If no change, if yes.............
Does the the adaptive check light illuminate and extinguish? If in doubt rtm.......  Ian

My SC has adaptive lights, and its obvious as soon as you drive in the dark. The extra side light bulbs light the road on most bends when driving less than 30 mph.

Also, the main headlights perform a calibration procedure on engine start-up, and you can see the beam move up and down and left to right.

If you have this option will know (unless its broke)

Hi our TDV8 07 Vogue has these lights. They drive me bonkers as I always think something is trying to drive up the inside as I turn. Very effective.

As I understand it you need to swith your lights to automatic for them to work. If you simply turn on the lights the adaptive function does not work. Have you tried this ?

So do the extra bulbs in the side light indicate adaptive lighting or not?

I wonder if your car has had an upgrade at sometime, adaptives are not possible to retro-fit without a lot of electrical changes but somebody might have replaced the originals in an attempt to have them.

I take it that what you have in your cluster is this - this is an adaptive side light on my TDv8 RRS and the side light lamp was replaced with an LED, the upper lamp is the adaptive "spot light" lamp
