Headlight/sidelight bulb upgrades.

With the dark evenings returning I need to replace the xenon headlight bulbs (D1S) in our 2006 MY Td6, which are not very bright anymore. As the Osram Nightbreakers are rather pricey can anyone recommend some good 6000K alternatives from e-bay?

Also, any recommendations for matching sidelight bulbs.

Tried to get the cornering lights to work today, tested the bulbs but no joy.

Thanks,

Glen.

My passenger actually just died so I bought a new pair. If you want 6000K Osram has the new CBH (Cool Blue Hyper) which are rated at 6000k....but they are new so they are pricey $$$$ like $225 pricey. On paper they have very good lumens. But I just think it will veery from crisp white to having a blue tint which I don't want. I went with the Osram CBI (Cool Blue Intense)...they were previously the Rolls Royce of HID for color and brightness rated at 5500K and ~3400lumens. The price on those came down ($165 ish) due to the new Osram CBH.

If you are going to buy them ONLY go to a reputable source like theretrofitresource.com. Anything found on ebay or amazon will almost certainly be a knockoff 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

I've cheapened out on other applications....i.e. HID fogs etc. Always went back to OEM quality though. I've compared aftermarket and OE in OE projectors when I used to retrofit and you never know what you get with the aftermarket bulbs. Any bulb will "work"...but even a mm of seating different causes huge difference in beam pattern, brightness, width and even color. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

it's a long while since i bought mine (and they still work Twisted Evil )

search D1S + 6000k and U.K. only and you'll find some....only thing to look out for is to make sure they have the four little metal vibration strips around the base of the bulb otherwise they won't fit properly... ... - .- -.

Hey guys, sorry to thread hijack. I’m looking to upgrade my dipped beam bulbs (55 reg l322) to some of the osram nightbreakers. Can anybody confirm which bulb type I need? Am I right in saying they are D2S bulbs?

I’ve bought none branded bulbs in the past and had bad experiences. I’m happy with the nightbreaker bulbs, I’ve seen them in another RR and they do a great job.
It’s bulb type (fitment) I need help with, I’m not sure if I need D1S or D2S
