Looking for a late Disco 2 or Disco 3 at Auctions..

.. is there anywhere I can see the sold prices at the British car auctions web site?

Any pointers for a auction newbie? Other than buyer beware and HPI checks. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

If you're in Staffs then Measham isn't too far away. Well worth going to watch a couple of live auctions before jumping in with both feet. I go to Measham once or twice a month since it's only 2 miles down the road from me. My first time was enlightening to say the least. Some bargains but lots of traders there as well, all paying top dollar at the moment.

Early december I saw a D2 2004 Landmark with 108k on it go through for £6400. I'd have given 5k for it on a good day. It's only ever a £6995 motor at that mileage, beyond that price people will stretch to a 2004 D3 since it's the better car by a long chalk.

Also, if you want a small car, Micra, Corsa, Fiesta etc there's rarely a diesel to be had and even the petrols fetch silly money with fuel prices the way they are. Almost retail money in most cases.

Can't remember ever seeing a FFRR go through. The odd Sport and the odd (very high mileage) D3.

My most recent purchase was a S plate LWB Petrol Isuzu Trooper which I got for £87. Ran it as the horsey stuff and dump car for 6 months, stuck an MOT on it and sold it on the bay for £900.

Oh, warm socks and lined boots are the order of the day, unless you like frozen feet of course. Good luck.

Yes probably safer to stay away unless you really know what your doing have access to accurate trade prices and have the facilty to HPI cars before or as you bid..... Surprised

Private buyers and newbies can easily be taken to the cleaners if an old hand spots you.....(and there all old hands)
