FFRR Prices

I was just messing about today in a few garages. I was pretending to be interested in a couple of cars, I was horrified at the part ex prices offered for my FF. I was being offered top book in guide at £16000!! They don't half take the Mick when they will quite happily sell them for 22-24k still. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

That is low Stu. 2012 models are going for £25k adn up even for private sales. they should only be getting c. £2-3k on top of the trade in price so you should be getting more like £18 in my opinion.

RE: Vogue 2012 12 Plate:

WeWantAnyCar.com can offer between £16,687 and £19,158 for a quick sale of your car now. (so £16000)

Retail is £23000 and CAP trade about £20000 but few main dealers can work with £3000 gross margin...

Rough example:

Gross Margin £3000 less

VAT: £600
CORP TAX: £300
SALES COMM: £600
ADVERTISING £300
PREMISES: £300
OFFICE COST: £400

NET: £500

Rough figures but you get what I mean there is not a lot of profit in a £3000 margin that's why they prefer £5k +

But how do you identify a time Waster?

Thanks for the breakdown Gaz i do get how things work, but it was just a bit of a shock hearing how little the car is worth! Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

you also didnt factor in the cost to wash and valet and do any repairs on the selling vehicle Gary..

on the landrover used approved site theres one 2012 priced at £34k and then the new shaped L405 starting at £41k so the L322 is still a very desirable and affordable purchase so should fetch better money than what the CAP prices say... ... - .- -.
