United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Orkney Grey

Well, just to add my two penneth worth, I've had all versions of the L322 and never had a turbo problem. My second turbo got a good workout today dragging my Buccaneer through Gods own county of Yorkshire...😂

My 3.6 was tuned, so running more boost pressure and it was faultless.

Turbos just don't fail every day of the week, it's like everything else mechanical, it's unlucky if it happens to you Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Like your last sentence....one gets a little bit paranoid reading all the threads and some of the response. According to statistics my current P38 V8 should have brown up by now.....still works Surprised

I must be very unlucky then! The Td6 turbo failed in February and the one on my 520d went a couple of weeks ago.

GDM..
you are unlucky truly!! Mind you I always let my turbos warm up and run down, comes from the days when I was on crazy jap cars kicking out too much horse power and would never have dreamt of owning a diesel car.. Shocked

Martin...
What can I say! P38 are terrible for reliability, especially electrics, but if you've got one that works keep it!! Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Sorry Mickey but can I just check if you mean left from inside the car or left when looking at the engine from outside the car. Tks in advance from a person with a noisey turbo on the offside of car - left when looking at the engine bay from the front! 😜

Right hand turbo can be done in a few hours

LH turbo needs:

Exhaust manifold off
Engine mount bracket off
Diff off
Engine mount off
Subframe off
Steering rack off

That said, I have done them at the side of the road, so nothing hugely difficult. Just fiddly and time consuming Thumbs Up
