I take it the car performs as it should , no loss of power , strange noises or transmission problems ? |

you can take it off and see if it makes any difference but I doubt that's the issue |

I would try injector cleaner as it sounds like the injectors are 'lazy' or slow at closing - only a quick thought |

As above, or maybe check your vacuum tubes for the engine mounts, maybe a split in a tube.

+1 on the injector cleaner. I use this stuff sometimes when I have that issue (haven't had it in ages).

Cleaner helped, after a while shaking was getting better till it was gone. But i noticed another thing that i fixed, the crankcase breather filter. it was full of oil! car is still a little smoky on the test drive, i think it will get better! maybe i give it another cleaner. thank you for the input! |

Is the crankcase breather the one on top at the back of the engine ? If so there is a BMW 'upgrade' one - it is no longer a paper/cotton filter but a plastic vortex type - fit and forget. Someone should be along with the details shortly |

On my TD6 (155k)and both my Volvo D5's ( one at 145k and the other at 237k)I use 2 stroke oil - have done for years - creates a cleaner burn and less emissions and also lubricates the injectors and fuel pumps. In the UK the diesel has a high amount of bio-diesel added by the manufacturers and as such provides less lubricant for the afore mentioned parts/components. I have never had a fuel pump failure (a lot of taxi drivers in the UK did with the introduction of bio-diesel being added - just google it) , car runs smoother , sound less of a tractor and also ticks over quieter. People have reported more power and more mpg but can't say I have noticed.MOT emissions show that since I started using it the readings are very very low. Just use ordinary 2 stroke oil and not semi or fully synthetic though , and low ash. |
