This is something that you may choose to take into account in your deliberations:

They're a LR Service Centre which means they only do servicing and repairs and don't have a fancy showroom to subsidise so their labour rates etc are a lot less then most main dealers. They're fully authorised by LR and can do anything that a normal dealers service dept/workshop can do. That's an interesting post about Warranty Directs financials... Looks like they'll need a few more policies just to pay the Administrators |

When my warranty expired I was so p'ed off with LR over their failure to honour the paintwork warranty as regards my rusty wheel arches (after two years) that I declined the offer of extension. While I do have oil weeps from both rear shocks and need the turbo drain mod, with oil also weeping from one turbo, I have not had to spend any money beyond routine servicing in 22 months, though no doubt saying so will produce a catalogue of expensive horrors at or before the next service/MOT. But I'm up by at least £2,500 just now. When my last car was in its worst 'money pit' phase I was spending about £3,000 a year, but that was exceptional, normally it was less, so if you can stand the risk of a major failure, then consider whether you might be better off doing without a warranty. I wouldn't bother with warranty direct personally.

And they've recently introduced chargeable inspections before they'll even agree to take a car on. If I can keep it under 100,000 miles before it's 3 years old (which is looking unlikely), it'll be LR warranty (or nothing) for year 4. After that, I'll be on my own. Gulp! |

If an LR warranty is in place it's transferable to a new owner and the car would not need to be inspected just because a new owner was added, for example in a private sale.

In regard to warranties, do you need to have the LR extended warranty to continue to have the in control features ?, from reading the first 3 years are included with a new vehicle |

Has anyone recently taken out LR extended warranty please? Just keen to understand the pricing structure. Does it vary by model? Does the price change each year or is it fixed for a period.

^ I can't answer to whether or not it varies between models; a phone call to any dealer will give you a price for yours.

There's an interesting post on warranties on the D3 forum: https://disco3.co.uk/forum/warrentywise-revues-170564.html
