2018/19 Range Rover Facelift

Anyone have any information on when order books will open for the facelifted full-size Range Rover, and when it might be revealed? My guess was late fall this year in line with the Sport and coinciding with the launch of the Velar so that the family face looks consistent...

My partner had a 2011 RR and a 2014 RR and then went to a Maserati Ghilbi (mistake). He's desperate to get back into a RR and we want to wait for the facelift since we'll be leasing for 2-3 years. The dealers here in LA are useless, telling us it's not coming out until 2021 despite plenty of spy shots of camo-covered 2018 Range Rovers...

A friend of mine knows someone pretty high up at Land Rover.

Subject to change but I’m told production of the current Range Rover face will cease in November, MY18 production begins Dec with but restricted engine options. First deliveries with limited engine choices could be as soon as end of Jan 2018.

Dont know what restricted engine choices means - just 3.0 or no hybrid perhaps. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

03 L322 Oslo Blue
2000 Disco TD5 ES Epsom Green
98 P38 Rioja Red

Hasn't the hybrid been missing from the price lists for some time already?

Not exactly useless - more likely calculating - most UK dealers would tell you the same - because if they told you the truth, then no-one would order a new one now except at a massive discount......

Well, he was at least semi-useless - the dealer in question Hornburg Santa Monica refused to admit any type of facelift was coming. I showed him spy shots on Motor Trend and he continued "no not until 2021". Won't be purchasing from there. Annoying thing in Los Angeles is that RRs tend to sell themselves all at MSRP and inventory is fairly low.

Thanks for the info.
Do you know if the 5.0 Supercharged petrol engine will be carried over?

I have already ordered SV Autobiography Dynamic for March delivery and been informed I will have 2018 version. There will be a replacement in 2020/2021. Hybrid will be back in the 2018 model range but maybe not initially. Launch engines are "expected" to be 5l supercharge and 4.4 diesel

May I ask if you managed to fix a guaranteed purchase price and trade in (if applicable) so far in advance, especially with the new model year prices not yet available?

Re the engines. The new ingenium six cylinder engines are due and maybe this is why there'll be a limited choice initially. It's about time as all the larger engines in JRL cars are starting to look very elderly.

Elderly maybe but the 5.0L Supercharged is such a great engine and suits the Range Rover perfectly. Not interested in any hybrid or Diesel, for me a Range Rover = V8 petrol engine.

No guaranteed purchase price and I expect LR will take the opportunity to increase prices anyway, not too worried about the trade-in as the dealer is after all the business and its a three car deal.
