wait facelift or not?

as per title do I wait for facelift (could be a while as d5 still not here in China) or buy now.
looking at 5.0 AB now
what is coming? seen interior pics . and thinner lights. will it come with 6 pot ingenium? any other changes worthy of waiting?

last of breed tend to be reliable, new often glitchy.
new will hold value better but I tend to pass old onto family so no gain for me.
old v8 few issues..new ingenium...who knows (memory of nickasil)
new cars seem firmer each generation( for the ring) I want comfy for the city
new style is new..vanity is a thing too.

thoughts? it is better to have and not need then need and not have

The MY18 was due Oct, then Dec and has now been delayed until Feb/March next year so you will be waiting for a long time.

Please don't ask me how I know but the source is senior at JLR...

The Feb/Mar launch is consistent with what I've been told too.

UPDATE: Prodiction of MY17 ends Nov, MY18 production begins Dec with restricted engine options. First deliveries with limited engine choices could be as soon as end of Jan 2018!

I believe that even senior managers at LR have no idea when the Defender will be along; it's like asking the Italian manufacturers for accurate BHP figures and the German ones for reliable emissions data Whistle Laughing

Supposedly early/mid 2018, with spy shots late 17, and the final design has been signed off

If their previous model changes are anything to go by I think you'll be able to assume that, if you wait for the new model year, LR will be jacking the RRP skywards and the dealer pricing support will be pulled for a while.
