England 2006 Range Rover SE Td6 Java Black

The SE spec is low compared to the Vogue and above, but to be honest I don't miss any of the extras.

Perforated leather seats with heat/cool function - Nice, but not essential. Heated seats make me feel like I've wet myself after a while. I did like the B#llock cooling seats though.

Ski bag - Don't ski.

2 extra pieces of wood (rear centre console?) - Just makes everything more flammable Very Happy

Bright sill plates - Wouldn't think £100 is worth it. Wouldn't notice if missing.

Rear Screen entertainment pack - Don't have sprogs, but having had the pleasure of having to listen to my nephew watching Scooby Doo etc for three hours in my last car, I would never have them again.

Electrochromatic door mirrors - Smart, but still a gizmo.

Adaptive headlights - Never used them, but don't sound to me like they're worth it (someone correct me)

Tyre pressure monitoring system - Brilliant when they work, otherwise I can feel when I've got incorrect tyre pressures and I have eyes.

20 inch alloys - Look good, but takes the car further away from being a practical off roader.

All other electrickery missing on an SE that I never knew I needed - Never had it, will not miss it.

That's my justification for having a lower spec RR. I'm just too pragmatic for my own good sometimes. I wanted the car itself, not a list of things that I'd never use or get bored with. I used to be very happy with a SIII and that had no gizmos at all! If anyone is wondering, I got out of bed on the wrong side this morning Smile

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

I have a vogue SE 08 year, and also have brochure so ere goes
Price difference was £4900 as rear entertainment system was dropped as standard
Seats are a different type of leather , windsor instead of Oxford which you dont get for your £600 heated /cooling extra also you have forgotton the luggage guard to keep the pesky gun dogs off the white leather !!!
Probably not worth the difference except for the adaptive lights which are brilliant.
Hope that helps

Got the bluetooth integration and electric seats (not memory though) and no Sat Nav (GPS aerial fitted though)

I do prefer TomTom anyway, as you can take all your favourites and POI etc with you when you're in another car (which is regularly).

Ah, I thought the "tit thing" on the roof was GPS, phone and TV.

"Tit" fitted on mine, no TV, no Sat Nav, just phone. Funny, would have thought it was logical place for GPS (not sure, but sure it was dealer that told me that . . . that explains why I'm wrong! Smile )

TV in the rear cargo windows

The Tit carries the GSM Ant however there is room for an external GPS ant in there if you run aux mapping like Fugawi Mem Map

No I just have an interest in the cars and using them for purpose Thumbs Up

TV DVD Mapping Mods are at the forefront of any alteration of my cars, although I do alot I employ the services of Iain Lambert of off road essentials (site sponsor on Disco3 he’s known as 10forcash)

In simple terms the black bit on the roof (often referred to as a “Tit”) house’s the Phone (GSM) antenna and nothing eles

There is sufficient room in there for an external GPS antenna

However this modification really is for people you use external mapping on a laptop

Popular applications are Fugawi , Memory Map

As for knowing where the TV aerials are this was confirmed when I recently changed the rear ¼ glasses to a different spec and the glass guys brought glass that did not have enough built in antennas

I don’t know everything about the FFRR but I do like to learn it’s what makes life worth living and passing on bits I beleive is what this forum is about Thumbs Up

That setup looks like the sort of kit that people who wear tin foil hats would use to prove the existance of aliens! Very Happy Very Happy I'm sure the Old Bill wouldn't like that screen very much if used while driving either.

It's not NASA that Ken works for, it's more sinister I think (and they wear black suits!). Ssssshh. I never told you that! Wink
