Torque converter?

What started as a wheel bearing is now pointing to the torque converter.
I've read many threads about vibration around 40MPH that points to the TC, and yes I have that. I also have a dry bearing sound hence starting at a wheel bearing.
RRPhil talks about the LUC not operating correctly I guess the only way to confirm is get it connected to the machine like he uses. The vibration is like driving on the motorway rumble strips. Comes in about 35mph not gone faster that 50 don't fancy a total lockup!
But would that cause the sound, is it connected or something else?

Thoughts learned chaps please.

Auto trans visit part 1 - oh did not realise that it has side steps not got a free lift for that. Took it for a drive and said that he does not think it is the TC but the front diff, advised not to drive it and then in same breath bring it back Friday and we will get it on a lift and run it up and see.
