Touch screen stereo nightmare

Help needed guys . I have a 2003 l322 td6 running the amp in the boot and the sat nav . I'm trying to fit an xtrons touch screen stereo . I know I have to get the long cable which goes to the boot and plug into the amp . I have bought 2 different types so far and only one works but you can only here the music very quietly and it killed the battery in half an hour . Was meant to be a play system but something is wrong. Has anyone managed to upgrade and come across this problem. And cured it . Any advice and help would be most welcome

I think all the units in the back talk to each other mate via fiber optic if you have the MOST TOUTCH SCREEN system and if the loop is broken nothing will operater correctly

I just had one fitted by John Kleis in Reading, Fibre optic is a bit of a misnomer- it isn't in every vehicle.

They didn't feed the wires they cut and soldered the existing running wire and fitted a small amp to run the sub in the boot

I got the Pioneer SPH-DA120 - Stan I figured that the 2003 would be similar to the 2002?

You will have ibus and the amp need to be switched on by ibus as it is.

I had this same bs! The dsp can be recoded if you find a dealer that will do it so it acts as a standard amp just powering on and off by the switch live.

If you can find someone great - if not I went down plan b and bought the none dsp ampnand wored it in now it's happy days! The Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF
