Having made a decision to purchase a 3.0 vse 66 plate from a main dealer - I am travelling up to collect it subject to being satisfied with the condition and test drive of the car - its 200 miles away from me so no chance to test it yet.
i'm expecting condition to be spot on, its done less than 1k miles.
I'm aware of the infotainment issues that some members have been experiencing.
my question is on the test drive, what things other than the norm should I look out for that are known problems. After how long approx. would the infotainment play up if its going to - or is there no consistency? I have asked the dealer to make sure all relevant update to software etc are all done.
just want to be satisfied fully that the car is ok and conduct a full test drive before I commit the funds etc. i'm thinking a half hour test drive?

Unless you've got the MY 17 the media system is fine. The newer one have some issues but the one in yours is basically the upgraded version that came in from the cars launch. Each time I buy a different L405 they seem to get a bit better and a bit quicker but don't expect it to compete with BMW and Audi as it's nowhere near those, even in the MY17.

Ask them about the history of the car, especially if it wasn't one of their own as very low miles on a customer return may need further explanation.

My advice is to take twenty minutes or so looking at all of the physical things, like body-work, wheels, spare wheel interior leather and trim, particularly the wooden trims which mark easily if you are rough with them. If there is a chance of rain ask them to move it indoors so it's dry before you arrive as this is the only way to see fine marks.

Then enjoy your test drive and I'd be amazed if there was a problem with the drive. Every one that I've bought, even the rejected one, drove beautifully and remember that the warranty is pretty good, even if it's not quite as good as when buying brand new.

The car is a despatch date of Nov 16 and first registered Dec 16 - 66 plate. Does that mean its a MY17 with the newer infotainment with the potential issues?

Am I right in also thinking that the approved used warranty is redundant because it will be under manufacturers warranty until Dec 2019 in any case?

Re its history yes those were my first thoughts. It was owned by Rockar which is I understand an internal sister company at land rover. They ran it for a few months.

Looking forward to it. Will be a world apart from my f10 m5 which I've been running last 3 years. Current
