That sounds about right. Both keys were in our bedroom but near a window. The tracker people have told me that they got a "tamper" message when the car was about 10 mins from my home. I assume that's because the key fob was not present. They tell me that the tracker is no longer working (been disabled?) but they may be able to do some sort of GSM triangulation once they have the necessary data protection permissions from me and the local plod. Sadly, I suspect my beloved car is gone for good. If it ain't broken, fix it till it is. |

Presumably the tamper is them disconnecting the tracker, how can it be that easy? letters not necessarily in the right order |

OP Sorry your car has been stolen . Can we presume from this that the location of the standard tracker is out in the open ?

If you put your keys in a tin or metal box it acts as a faraday cage and should stop the "key repeater" thefts . Still trying to think of a solution when you have the key in your pocket . My Yamaha tmax key has a on / off button on the fob so as you walk away you can switch the fob off , something for the next model !!! |

Thieving fu rs
Could they not have disabled the vehicle remotely when they realised it was stolen and knew where it was. My very basic tracker has an option to cut fuel supply etc which at least stops them getting too far. Hope it works out for you 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Gone, but not forgotten |
