Which alternator? (2004 V8 Petrol BMW M62engine)

Bearing going on alternator in my 2004 V8 M62 Petrol (185,000 good miles so far!!)

Any recommendations for a replacement? (not keen to splash out over £1000 for a LR one!)

any comments on this one?

Hi DB,

That's the one I bought and have had no problems at all in the 10 months I've had it. It was well packed and delivered quickly.

The only thing I can't recall is wether or not it came with a new O ring, as you need to replace this as well.

I had bought a refurb kit to refurb my original alternator and that came with a new O ring, but it was way to difficult to take the old alternator apart so I bought a new one. Thinking about it now I do think the new alternator came with an O ring as I sold the refurb kit complete with everything that came with it in the first place.

Give the alternator supplier a call to make sure, as the O ring is vital... ______________________________
