anyone see the one where they bought an old Defender 90 and tried to make it look like a new one? I watched it yesterday on some Sky repeat channel.
It didn't look that bad until they started cheapskating, by spraying the badly warped plastic front grille silver, and applying LANDROVER stickers to the bonnet instead of the raised letttering. A final insult was leaving a steel spare on the back door!
To someone who wouldn't know the difference though, it wasn't too bad.

I noticed it was warped too, but he bought the grille and light surrounds at Simmonites (I think it was them )

And they recommended putting a newer steering wheel in and they replace it with a crap Momo one and not a newer std Defender one?

Still, it looked really nice at the end and I wish I could have bought it and done more to it. Discovery 4 HSE

standard defender steering wheels are to big for the cab space thats why its better to have a smaller one

even the new ones are crap ,the logo clippes onto the grill-it doesnt come with it

Funny you should say this, I've been driving my 110 for quite a few years and found the wheel big but fine... then in the snow we recently had the Mrs drove it and I was passenger... You never tried to drive yours down the motorway for 5-6 hours then El? I took my 90 down to the Lakes a few years back for an LRM photoshoot on the Gatesgarth Pass and had to stop every hour to get the ciruclation back into my right arm! I've never felt the bigger wheel has been awkward though, just the lack of elbow room between me and the door. Apart from the arm discomfort I was surprised that it wasn't more uncomfortable than it was for a 5 hour trip and the TDI300 was quite able to keep up with the other traffic and I didn't get too many big trucks trying to crush me in their bow wave. Seems to be happiest cruising along at 60/65 rather than 70 and I was running it on BFG AT's then so less tyre noise than now as it lives on it's BFG MT's - a two hour drive from home to Lochgilphead is about the longest I can bear without a break to let my ears and right arm recover - Inverary is a good stop for letting the body recover from driving the 90 at speed on A roads. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

i dont think a newer defender steering wheel would fit on an older 90 spline  ONE LIFE LIVE IT

We've taken the 110 down to Biarritz with the caravan on tow. I tend to drive no more than 100 miles without a break though. Mainly due to having little peeps on board.. but also to restore some sanity. With the 110 given its a TD we tend to average 55mph. In recent years we use the FFRR for such trips but still use the 110 when we take the dogs as it has a full dog cage installed which means we can leave the back door open to keep 'em cool and ventilated.

Here it is in Spain in the year Maddie went missing, like alot of others (mainly truckers) we thought we'd do our bit to try and help the effort...
