LED Lights

Hi all, quick question after something I read. Can all of you with newer caravans and trailers with LED lights on them and 2010 + cars, let me know if your reversing sensors turn off when your trailers are connected please. I read that due to the LED's being low voltage the system can't recognise them hence the sensors having to be turned off at the dash switch. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zambezi Silver
LED's on my new van

I have a new swift manufactured caravan which has all LED's on it, and my 2008 SC had loads of problems when connected to my FFRR so the dealer fitted a lighting control init with a couple of load resistors to sort out the problem, it took a while to get the right LCU but in the end they did get it right to a certain extent, i still get the odd problem but a work round was found

Hope this helps

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

Hi,
I have recently collected a brand new Swift with all LED lighting. My car is an early BMW electrics V8 petrol.
I ordered a converter unit from Sargent (sold at cost to swift owners but not free as suggested on here) for £38.81 delivered.
This sorted out the issue with the indicators and will keep things legal by monitoring the LED's and simulating a fault if there is a problem.

This just left the brake lights constantly pulsing as the tow lighting controller in the boot next to the fuse box was trying to check the bulbs.
I disconnected the brake light feed to the unit (black with a blue stripe) and the feed from the unit to the 13 pin socket (black with a red stripe) and soldered them together.
No more pulsing brake lights.

Sargent were unsure as to what unit would work with the early L322 and wanted me to drive to the dealer to try different ones before ordering (60 mile round trip) but after discussing the options we settled on this unit as it had resistors for the indicators and I would sort any further problems out myself.
Now that it is all working, I will fit a relay with a fused power feed to control the brake lights so that I don't overload the feed when I use my trailer with conventional lighting.
Hope this info may help others.
