FF 2006 4.4L Jag V8 Workshop Manual or Help Please.

Ok, Try as I might (and I have just spent the last hour searching) I cannot find a workshop manual specifically relating to my 2006 FFRR 4.4L V8 Petrol.

I would like to attempt to clean the throttle body to try to cure a variable idle issue. However, due to a seeming lack of diagrams, etc, I cannot find info in where the throttle body is located on this engine and how to remove it.

I have booked it into a local LR independent workshop to resolve the issue. but they are full booked and can't fit me in for 2+ weeks and will probably want to charge me for a complete new throttle body.

So I thought I'd have a go at cleaning my current one in the meantime, as this might resolve the problem.

Can anyone help me with workshop manuals links, diagrams, how to's, etc, etc, please.

Any help gratefully received.

Yes and yes. 'Throttle Body' is mentioned in threads, but no diagrams, locations or how to info. Workshop Manuals don't specifically mention the throttle body at all.

I've been down so many rabbit holes over the past three hours, I feel like changing my name to Alice.

Yes. I too found those with a quick google search. Youtube video seems to start some way into the process and most of it is filmed in pitch black with the help of a torch. No useful info.

The still image you embedded poses more questions than it answers. To whit:

Is this relating to my car (FFRR 2006 4.4 petrol)?
What is the location context of this image (Where under the bonnet are we looking)?
How did we get to this stage of the process (What has been removed and how was it removed to reveal the throttle body)?
What happened next (The cleaning process)?
Etc, Etc, Etc,

I can find any number of still images of various throttle bodies. These are almost entirely devoid of any useful, contextual information.

OK. Thanks Stan.

I'm assuming, from what little info I can garner, that the throttle body is the last bit at the end of the air intake system before it joins the main body of the engine.

So, I am on the point of going out with my tool box and starting to disassemble bits of the engine until I find it Shocked

Thanks for that Stan.

Unfortunately that diagram looks nothing like my RR 2006 4.4L Petrol (Jag) engine.

OK. Sorry but neither of those is a FFRR 2006 4.4L engine. They are the RR Sport Supercharged. The configuration and component orientation (not to mention the external design) looks totally different to my FFRR engine.

This is what mine looks like:

and here: https://abetter.bid/en/40114596-2006-land+rover-range_rove
(See engine pic)

Poor pictures, but you get the idea. Later I will take a photo of my FFRR engine bay and post it up for reference.

Hi Gyre8,

A bit late to the party on this one but is the diagram below of any use:
Item 1 is the electronic Throttle.
I checked your photo links and the engine looks like this once you take the big plastic cover off

I had a look in my workshop manual from Topix for a 2006 4.4L V8 petrol (AJ Jag engine) but couldn't find anything specific to what you describe. Mine is LHD but the engine should work the same.

Usually, I am working on the principle that if its not described in what I downloaded from Topix then refer to the legacy manual from the <2005 cars. So far that logic has worked.

If you send me a PM I can send you the engine PDF I have.

Ste
