My manual says use 934 but you can use 1 L of 913 in an emergency |

no point in spending the extra on the 934 as its for the 4.4 not the 3.6.

I got the correct spec oil from euro parts and I think there's an offer on again this weekend so worth checking out the website. 2009 Vogue SE Zermatt silver |

I have a 57 (08 MY) 3.6 tdv8 which was the year they introduced an optional DPF which my car has. Even though the manual says A1 spec Ford 913-B oil I believe that if your vehicle has a DPF you should be using a C3 grade oil to avoid potentially damaging or reducing the lifespan of the DPF. My independent LR specialist backed this up when I spoke to them recently and they were adamant that a good quality 5W-30 fully synthetic oil is a must for the 3.6 TDV8. I will be using Castrol Magnatec C3 grade oil which I can get from Costco for around £25 for 4 litres. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8 |

Look underneath the body at the front seats area. If there are large 'canisters' in each exhaust pipe with quite small pipes coming off the main pipe before and after the canister then you have dpf. There are also heat shields attached to the canisters. They are each side of the auto box. If the pipes are simple pipes then you don't. I think ( can't remember exactly) that after 2010 MY dpf was standard. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8 |

Thanks I'd better take a look tomorrow. There's no mention of dpf in my handbook and no sign of a dpf regeneration light on dash etc. 2009 Vogue SE Zermatt silver |

Hi I used one of these on my 4.4L tdv8. I then removed the sump plug that's above the cross tube. (My engine only has one sump plug). Next to nothing came out. I used a reducer air coupling to connect the white plastic tube to the oil removal tube. These pumps seem popular but I am not sure I am converted. The first time I drained both plugs on my (recently sold) 3.6 at 95k miles, a cup full of thick sludge came out of the rear plug. Car had a full dealer history when I bought it so suspect a pump had been regularly used. Over the next 40k miles and 4 changes, the rear plug drained freely and was not that messy using a cardboard funnel. It left me wondering if I would have faced and expensive turbo failure had I not properly drained the rear of the sump.
