Double glaze or double laminated , dosen't matter one bit if after a crash which we are talking about hear there is a casualty in the car , before any kind of cut down to extract a casualty the car must first be Glass Managed this is to prevent the casualty getting Any glass dust or shards in to any wounds or breathed in.
If the side glass is intact the best method is wind it down and shatter in to the door space with a self activating centre punch if it's gone it's gone but if it is still intact but shatterd it can't be wound down and must be pushed out ( difficult with your casualty and casualty handler in the way ) So what I am saying I guess is all a very good idea until suddenly you find your self in the hands of five big blokes( or women ) and one shouty bloke. 2008 MY Supercharged

Are there in lies the problem , the training that Fire and Rescue Servises is very extensive but for alot of obvious reasons there aren't allot cars like FFRR's to train on and most fireies tent to be experts on 1992 Rover 400 and such junk .
The Police don't know it's not their gig and any way they get grumpy about the Fire Service turning up because they get out numbers and aren't in control for a while and the Ambulance Servise just can't get funding for proper training.
I'm not saying it's a big problem but it dose show that the cars we drive have moved on along way current training. 2008 MY Supercharged

Turning up is great, doing the business is fantastic, its the spreading themselves all over the place n then chatting about how well they did that is mildly frustrating whilst 60,000 people are sat in the tail back ......... Wink Ian
