Squeak / Chirping starting from cold

Hi All, I have a 2011 TDV* 4.4, with 64000 miles. When i start it from cold i get a chirping sound for a few minutes which goes away once the engine warms up. The guy i bought it from said it was a belt tensioner... Has anyone else had this happen, and if so can anyone tell me which part it is likely to be.

Regards,
Chris

possibly the belt tensioner or a squeaky belt. Mine made some squeaking noises so I got them to do the fan belt and it sorted it.

See if you can narrow down which area of the engine it is coming from.

Have a look to see if you can see the belt running on the tensioner. Sometimes they fail and the belt runs half on the tensioner, need a new tensioner if this is the case. Hot a massive job THB and the parts not dear. Its the getting the belt off which is a bit fiddly. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the reply... it sounds more like a bearing type squeak to me than a slipping belt.
