My new 3.6 tdv8.

Hi All,

Bought a 2007 3.6 tdv8 that's done 55k last week.
It's had one owner, an elderly chap who never took it anywhere near the dealer as he didn't trust them. It has been serviced by indy's but I have no more details than a stamp in the book.
My question is will it have missed out on anything crucial by not going to the dealer?
It drives A1 and everything works.

Thanks, Bob.

Nice clean looking car.

Get it booked into a dealer for a free health check and ask them to do any recalls that it may have missed.

I would have thought the car would have benefited immensely by not having been anywhere a main dealer for servicing.
Why people still trust main dealers to do anything correctly bar overcharge is beyond me.

Nice car.
Maybe the breakhoses to check out?
There was a recall for them.

Thanks chaps, yes agreed niceday on the face of it the car doesn't seem to have been disadvantaged by not going there.
Have been to see my local indy who has suggested an oil change and a fluid and filter change for the ZF. He also says he'll check the recalls for me.
Was just wondering if there was anything else.
Thanks again,
Bob.

If you had 2 identical cars but one with indy and one with dealer history I'd pick the Indy serviced car everytime Current

Hi

Looks very similar to mine. I had the auto box fluid and filter
Also the transfer box and both diffs done as well as the coolant
And the brake fluid. All that cost £730 from my local main dealer
Which I didn't think was bad. Cheaper than the independents as
Well.

Enjoy it they are a great drive 👍

Looks great. Bought a very similar one about 6 months ago. Great things!

Rear brake callipers were binding, presumably due to lack of use. Otherwise been good so far. Getting serviced and all fluids changed shortly.
