Replacing thermostat.. easy. Replacing oil cooler..not easy

Hi

Just thought I'd let people know who are thinking of upgrading the thermostat to one that operates at a lower temperature that it's really quite easy to do so.

My ff had the wrong coolant in it so thought I would change the oil cooler for a new one. Sadly I was unable to get the oil cooler lines off, looks to be quite easy but I obviously didn't have the nack of how to get them undone Sad

They can be tight. One of mine popped off easily, the other needed a good bit of leverage using an open ended spanner up against the face of the clip and levering it off against the oil cooler with another spanner. No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue

Updating thread.
Had land rover specialist do this for me as I could not get pipes off and didn't want to strand car on drive if I broke something.
Garage got pipes off, broke plastic clips in process. Replaced thermostat parts etc and did a mega flush.
I have had no problems since.
